Visa Information
Travellers from mainland will need to apply for Tongxingzheng to enter Hong Kong.
Travellers from most other countries can enter Hong Kong and stay for 14 days or more without a visa.

Getting from the Airport to the University
1. Tourist “Octopus Card”
We strongly recommend purchasing a tourist Octopus Card at the airport. This rechargeable smart card can be used to pay for public transport, as well as at many restaurants and convenience stores across Hong Kong. Please be aware that the public transportation systems usually do not accept credit card.
2. By Taxi

Taxis are available at the airport and can take you directly to the university campus.

Approximate fare: ~400 HKD (cash only; most taxis do not accept cards or mobile payments).

Important: Please withdraw sufficient cash at the airport.
- Note: Tipping is not expected in Hong Kong; drivers do not require gratuity.
3. By MTR (Airport Express & Metro)

Take the Airport Express train from the airport to Hong Kong/Central station. Hong Kong and Central stations are inter-connected

Transfer to the Island Line (Blue Line) at Central station towards HKU station.

At HKU Station, take Exit A, then the lift at Exit A2 to enter the university.
